The monthly invoice that issues itself
A retainer you forget to bill is a month you worked for free. Set the customer, the amount and the day once, and the invoice goes out every month without you.
Retainers
What you set for a retainer
One form, once.
The customer
One of your customers.
The lines
What is billed every month, with quantity and price.
Tax
The tax percentage of the invoice.
The day of the month
From the 1st to the 28th, so it exists in every month.
From when, until when
A start date, and an end date if the agreement has one.
A note on every invoice
A line that appears each month.
What happens on the day
The invoice is created and issued with the next number, and sent to the customer on WhatsApp if there is a number and a connected line. The due date is set from your payment days.
- Issued in the morning of the day you chose
- Sent on WhatsApp from your own line
- Appears in the invoice list like any other invoice
Pause, continue, stop
A retainer can be paused and continued. When it is continued, the months that were skipped are not billed. Stopping is final, and a retainer with an end date stops by itself.
- Active, paused or stopped
- Skipped months are not billed after the fact
- Stops on its own after the end date
How it works
Open a retainer
Customer, lines, tax and the day of the month.
Let it run
Every month an invoice is issued and sent.
Mark payments
Each invoice is marked as paid when the money arrives.
Good to know
A retainer issues an invoice; it does not charge the customer. The customer pays each invoice from its link, and you mark it as paid. Retainers are monthly.
Questions people ask
Does a retainer charge the card of the customer?
No. It issues and sends the invoice. The customer pays from the link.
Can a retainer be weekly or yearly?
Not today. Retainers are monthly.
What if the customer has no WhatsApp number?
The invoice is still issued and waits in the list, and you send the link yourself.
Can I change the amount?
Stop the retainer and open a new one with the new lines.
